Docker Business is one of key subscription tiers of Docker solution, and it adds more secure layers on top of the basic Docker offering.
A common question we get is “What are the special features available only in Docker Business?”
So, we’ve put together a quick summary for you.
Note: Want a fully detailed list of all features and capabilities across our different plans? Just shoot us an email – we’re happy to help! (See contact info below).
Here are the main features of Docker Business:
1. Hardened Docker Desktop:
Centrally enforces security policies and guardrails (settings, registry/image restrictions) on Docker Desktop and strengthens isolation – without breaking developer workflows
2. Single Sign‑On (SSO):
Lets users authenticate to Docker Desktop and Hub using your corporate IdP; supports SAML and Mirosoft Entra (OIDC), with domain verification and org‑wide enforcement.
3. SCIM user provisioning:
Automates lifecycle management from your IdP to Docker – provisioning, updates, de‑provisioning, and team mappings – so org membership stays synchronized without manual admin
4. Image and Registry Access Management:
Restricts which registries developers can access and which image classes they may pull (e.g., Official Images, Verified Publisher), reducing exposure to untrusted sources.
5. Desktop Insights Dashboard:
Provides org‑level visibility into Docker Desktop adoption and usage, with time‑range filters and CSV export to support compliance, capacity planning, and license optimization
6. Enhanced Container Isolation (ECI):
Adds stronger defenses – user‑namespace remapping, protected mounts, stricter syscall controls – so even privileged containers can’t compromise Docker Desktop’s VM or the host, with minimal workflow change.
Besides, Docker has recently started to offer Docker Hardened Images (DHI): These are container images that are secure (and slim) by default, built specifically for modern production environments. To learn more, read here or contact us.
